Did everything they said they would do I called them shortly after I broke a window. The person on the phone was very helpful and gave me an estimate based on a picture I e-mailed to her. The job matched the estimate. I asked for an appointment as early in the day as possible because I had another appointment I could not postpone. They arrived 20 minutes early and did the work within about a half an hour. The workmen were very nice and businesslike. A very professional outfit. The installer cuts the glass in his truck, rather than going back to the shop and then returning with the cut piece. This makes installation much faster.

Don’t like to own up to their mistakes… I was pretty excited to find a “door” store here in Portland. Having previously lived in Seattle, where there is a terrific door store, I was prepared to give this place a lot of business (we do a fair amount of remodeling). The very first job I gave them – a simple, pre-hung door to be placed into a hole of given measurements – they ordered it too big. When the contractor I hired showed up to pick the thing up, Truax had ordered *the actual door* to the measurements given. With the addition of the molding around the door, it door was now an inch too large to fit in the opening. A simple mistake, but I had been *very* clear about where this door was going, and that, pre-hung, it needed to fit inside the measurements provided. So it was their mistake. The conversation with the sales rep there was depressing. He must have said, “well… it’s my recollection…” four times. It quickly became a your-word-against-mine discussion. Bad form for a local business. So now they have my money

My patio door has a built-in pet door that slides with the door — absolutely the best-looking solution I have seen. Lifetime was the only company that had this solution for me. I interviewed 3 companies before choosing Energy Gruard for their product reputation, and the owners of the company. I was totally impressed when they were the only ones to even remove their shoes when they came into my house (hint: if people have shoes by the front door usually that means they do not wear inside). I’m an actual customer and actually believed all of the reviews, BBB rating, etc. The salesperson came to my house and was really knowledgable… everything seemed great. But then I waited and waited for them to call me to schedule the precise measurements. I ended up having to call them over and over again and finally got on their schedule 3 weeks after the salesperson came. Then I was told it would be another 5 weeks before the windows arrived, and another 2+ weeks before they could schedule the install. So it takes them almost 3 months to install windows? For the price that I’m paying, I’d expect better service than this.

And i almost decided to buy the windows from home depot and do it myself! within the same week i went to the fair and saw a rep from Harley. Excellent company. I would use them again State Roofing is great. We initially used them for a re-roofing project and they were prompt, efficient and very professional. They did a great job and, if I had any concerns, they were excellent about explaining what was going on. We called them a second time when we had an issue with another roof that they did not install. They came out to look at the roof and said that it would eventually need to be replaced but that we could get a few more years out of it. I appreciated that State Roofing was honest and did not try to sell us a new roof. This showed me that it is not about the money. They are an excellent company to work with.

Great windows, terrible customer service post-sale. We contracted with Taylor to replace our windows in August of 2009. One of the windows arrived at our home on the installer’s trailer with a huge crack in it. As there were no extra windows, the installer went ahead and put the window in and said he would alert Taylor’s service department to order a new sash and set an appointment to come back and install it. I did not hear from Taylor, so I called to get the issue taken care of. They did not know about the broken window, much less had they ordered a replacement. They also did not know which window I was talking about when I described it, so I had to photograph the label on the sash and email it to them. I was assured I would hear back to set up an appointment to install the sash once it had been fabricated and arrived at their store.

RECOMMEND! I called two different companies for quotes on blown-in cellulose insulation – ABT was the smaller of the two, quotes were similar in price. I went with ABT as I liked the fact that I was dealing with the owners. They have several high tech infrared temperature readers. Their team was professional, trustworthy and knowledgeable. Even though our job ended up being more complicated than orginally anticipated, Romain did not try to charge any more or shortcut the job. They did what it took to get the job done right – pleasure to work with. I would recommend ABT to anyone who is looking to do blown in insulation.

User Reviews: I moved into my new apartment and only a month later I find that the glass back splash behind the oven has a long crack which was caused by the heat coming out of the oven’s exhaust. After speaking to the building manager I find that the glass was not tempered by the installer. I was subsequently referred to Bear Glass by another tenant in the building that had the same problem and called Bear Glass to have the cracked back splash replaced with tempered glass. Why the previous glass company installed glass that was not tempered in the first place is beyond me but I’m glad that Bear Glass came quickly and installed it in no time at all. I’m having my crooked shower door replaced by them as well. Great guys, excellent service.

Shawn Colvin, who was my sales representative called on me and gave a great sales pitch for the windows that I was suppose to get. At the time of the installation, the installers came and installed my windows. The windows looked great, except that they forgot to finish the cocking of the outside of the windows. Ther was extra cocking hanging off the top of the window and the bottom of the window wasn’t even sealed. I called the sales rep to address this issue and he never called back. Weeks went by and i called again, but with no call back. His phone was full and not accepting calls. Finally I took a picture and sent it to him. He finally called me back and said that the issue will be taken care of the up coming weekend. That weekend I did see workers doing and installation on another unit and figured that they would work on mine a well. I thought wrong, no body did anything to my place. I call Shawn again, but now with no answer or call back.

I’m an actual customer and actually believed all of the reviews, BBB rating, etc. The salesperson came to my house and was really knowledgable… everything seemed great. But then I waited and waited for them to call me to schedule the precise measurements. I ended up having to call them over and over again and finally got on their schedule 3 weeks after the salesperson came. Then I was told it would be another 5 weeks before the windows arrived, and another 2+ weeks before they could schedule the install. So it takes them almost 3 months to install windows? For the price that I’m paying, I’d expect better service than this.

Clear concepts did a quality and professional job of installing our windows and were the lowest price out of 5 company quotes. At first I was set back by the low price of their quote in thinking quality would suffer but all the great reviews on here helped me make the final decision. We are extremely satisfied with our windows. Originally Brian quoted Plygem windows but after the first quote we realized we could afford Milgaurd windows, a slightly more renowned name in window manufacturers, and we added an additional window to our order. One set back we had, at no fault of Clear Concepts was a mis-communication between Clear Concepts and Milguard. In hindsight our Milguard windows are high quality manufactured and I still wouldn’t have changed our window manufacturer. We are very happy with the product
